Preparation of the Topping
- 1
Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the fresh tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.
- 2
Prepare the Basil
Chop the fresh basil leaves finely and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.
- 3
Make the Balsamic Reduction
In a small saucepan, add the balsamic vinegar. Heat over medium heat until it comes to a simmer. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes or until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Add Olive Oil and Seasoning
Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the bowl with tomatoes and basil. Drizzle in the olive oil, sprinkle the salt, and add black pepper to taste. Mix everything together gently.
Toasting the Bread
- 5
Slice the Baguette
Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.
- 6
Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the sliced baguette on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
Assembly

Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously over each slice.
- 8
Drizzle the Balsamic Reduction
Finally, drizzle the balsamic reduction over the topped bruschetta for added flavor.
