Cocktail

Method

Prepare glass

  1. 1

    Chill & optional sugar rim

Chill a tall Collins or highball glass in the freezer for 5 minutes. If you want a sugared rim, rub a grapefruit wedge around the glass lip and dip the rim into coarse sugar to lightly coat.

Build the cocktail

  1. 2

Fill a shaker or mixing glass with the ice.

  2. 3

Add Goldschläger, fresh lime juice, simple syrup and Angostura bitters to the shaker.

  3. 4

Briefly hard-shake (5–7 seconds) or stir vigorously for about 10 seconds to chill and lightly dilute — the cinnamon schnapps benefits from a short shake to integrate with citrus.

  4. 5

Strain the mixture into the chilled glass filled halfway with fresh ice.

  5. 6

Slowly top with the Stiegl Grapefruit Radler (pour gently down the side of the glass) to preserve carbonation and create a layered effervescent look — about 1.5 cups.

  6. 7

Give the drink one very gentle stir (1–2 rotations) to marry flavors without flattening the beer.

Garnish & serve

  1. 8

Garnish with a grapefruit wheel or wedge perched on the rim and a mint sprig tucked into the glass. Serve immediately with a straw or stir stick.
