1. Prepare the Marinade
In a mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, soy sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, and vegetable oil. Mix well.
2. Marinate the Beef
Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips and add it to the marinade. Toss to coat all the pieces well. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
3. Grill the Beef
Preheat the grill over medium-high heat. Remove the beef from the marinade and grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your liking.
4. Prepare the Vegetables
While the beef is grilling, prepare the vegetables. Slice the cucumber, julienne the carrot and daikon, and wash the cilantro.
5. Assemble the Sandwich
Slice the baguette lengthwise and lightly toast it if desired. Layer the grilled beef inside the baguette, followed by cucumber slices, julienned carrot, daikon, fresh cilantro, and jalapeño slices (if using).
6. Serve
