Tiramisu Ingredients
Method
Tiramisu Directions
Prepare the Coffee
Brew a strong cup of espresso coffee. Allow it to cool slightly and stir in the coffee liqueur, if using. Set aside.
Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue whipping until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
Mix Mascarpone
In another bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
Assemble the Layers
Dip each ladyfinger biscuit quickly into the espresso coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in a rectangular serving dish.
Layer the Cream Mixture
Spread half of the mascarpone-cream mixture over the layer of ladyfingers. Smooth it out evenly.
Repeat the Layers
Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone-cream mixture.
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder. Cut into squares and enjoy your homemade tiramisu.
