Method
Cocktail
- 1
Prepare the shaker
Fill a cocktail shaker half full with ice (about 1 cup). This both chills and slightly dilutes the cocktail to balance flavors.
- 2
Combine liquids
Add 2 oz Cazadores Reposado tequila, 0.75 oz triple sec, 1.5 oz guava purée, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup to the shaker. If using bitters, add 2 dashes.
- 3
Shake
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the exterior of the shaker is well chilled and you hear the ice fully rattling.
- 4
Strain
If serving on the rocks: fill a rocks glass with fresh ice and double-strain the cocktail (use a Hawthorne strainer and fine mesh) over the ice to remove guava pulp and small ice shards. If serving straight up: double-strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- 5
Adjust sweetness
Taste and adjust: if the guava is very tart or the mix tastes sharp, add an extra 0.25–0.5 oz simple syrup, briefly stir or give a quick shake with ice and re-strain.
Garnish & Rim

- 7
Garnish and serve: Float a lime wheel on the edge of the glass and optionally add a thin guava slice on the rim or laid atop the drink. Serve immediately.
