Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Chill glass

If desired, place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill it.

  2. 2

    Measure ingredients

Measure 0.75 oz bourbon, 0.75 oz Aperol, 0.75 oz amaro, and 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice into a cocktail shaker.

  3. 3

    Add ice and shake

Add enough ice to the shaker (about 4–6 large cubes). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted.

  4. 4

    Strain

Discard ice or water from the chilled glass if you used it. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or a chilled rocks glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to catch any small ice shards or pulp.

  5. 5

    Garnish and serve

Express a lemon twist over the drink to release oils, rub it on the glass rim if desired, and drop it in (or rest a small lemon wedge on the rim). Serve immediately.
