Seared Ahi Tuna and Salad
Preparation and Cooking
1. Prepare the Cucumber Wasabi Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the wasabi paste, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.
2. Season the Tuna
Pat the Ahi tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
3. Sear the Tuna
In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the tuna steaks and sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side, depending on your preferred level of doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for a minute.
4. Prepare the Salad
In a large bowl, combine the mixed salad greens and sliced cucumber. Drizzle with soy sauce and toss to combine.
5. Serve
Slice the seared tuna and arrange on top of the salad. Drizzle with cucumber wasabi sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
