Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prep the Prawns

Peel and devein the large prawns, leaving the tails on for presentation. Rinse them under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves.

  3. 3

    Chop the Parsley

Finely chop the fresh parsley and set aside for garnish.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Lemon

Cut the lemon in half and set aside for juicing later.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers, but do not let it smoke.

  2. 6

    Add Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the hot oil and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and golden, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 7

    Cook the Prawns

Increase the heat to medium-high, then add the prawns to the skillet. Season with salt, black pepper, and red chili flakes. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.

  4. 8

Finish with Lemon Juice and Parsley

Remove the skillet from heat. Squeeze the juice of one half of the lemon over the prawns, and sprinkle the chopped parsley on top. Toss to combine.

Serving

  1. 9

    Serve Hot

Transfer the sizzling garlic prawns to a serving dish and drizzle with additional olive oil if desired. Serve immediately with the remaining lemon half on the side for extra juice.
