1. Rinse the Rice
In a fine-mesh strainer, rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
2. Boil Water
In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt.
3. Add Rice and Butter
Once the water is boiling, add the rinsed rice and 2 tablespoons of butter to the saucepan.
4. Simmer
Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer for about 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and has absorbed all the water.
5. Fluff and Serve
Remove from heat, let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
