In a large brew kettle, heat 1000 ml of water to approximately 70°C (158°F). Add 200 g of malted barley and 100 g of corn to the water. Stir well and maintain the temperature for 60 minutes to allow the grains to convert their starches into sugars.

Step 1: Prepare the Mash

After the mash process, sparge the grain bed with additional hot water to extract the sugars. Collect the liquid (wort) in a separate vessel.

Step 2: Sparging

Bring the collected wort to a boil. Once boiling, add 20 g of hops and boil for another 60 minutes. This will impart bitterness and aroma to the beer.

Step 3: Boil the Wort

After boiling, quickly cool the wort using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches approximately 20°C (68°F).

Step 4: Cool the Wort

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Add 10 g of yeast and seal the vessel with an airlock. Allow it to ferment at a stable temperature (around 18-20°C or 64-68°F) for 7-10 days.

Step 5: Fermentation

Once fermentation is complete, add 30 g of priming sugar to the beer to carbonate it. Bottle the beer in sanitized bottles and cap them. Allow them to carbonate at room temperature for another 7-14 days.

Step 6: Bottling

After carbonation, chill the bottles in the refrigerator. Once chilled, your Yuengling Flight Light Lager is ready to be poured into a glass and enjoyed!
