Shrimp
Atomic Cocktail Sauce
Method
Preparation of Shrimp
Boil the Shrimp
Fill a large pot with water, add salt and Old Bay seasoning, and bring to a boil over high heat.
Cook the Shrimp
Once the water is boiling, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook.
Ice Bath
Immediately transfer the cooked shrimp to an ice bath (a bowl of ice water) to stop the cooking process. Let them sit for about 5 minutes.
Drain and Chill
Drain the shrimp and place them in the refrigerator to chill until you are ready to serve.
Preparation of Atomic Cocktail Sauce
Combine Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine ketchup, prepared horseradish, hot sauce, fresh lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder.
Season
Mix well and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust according to your preference.
Chill the Sauce
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the cocktail sauce for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Assembly
Prepare Serving Glasses
Choose small shot glasses or cocktail glasses for serving.
Layer the Shrimp and Sauce
Place 2-3 shrimp in each glass and top with a spoonful of atomic cocktail sauce.
