Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Stir and chill

Add the blended Scotch whisky (1.5 oz), house vermouth (0.5 oz), Spanish blanco vermouth (0.5 oz), amaretto (0.5 oz), and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters into a mixing glass.

2

Fill the mixing glass with large ice cubes until nearly full. Stir gently but firmly for 20–30 seconds (about 20–30 full turns) until the mixture is well chilled, slightly diluted, and the outside of the glass becomes frosty.

3

Strain the chilled cocktail through a fine strainer (or Hawthorne/nylon) into a chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass (or an Old Fashioned glass over a single large ice cube, if preferred).

Garnish & Finish

4

Express the orange twist over the drink by holding it skin-side down above the glass and giving it a firm squeeze to release the oils; then run the twist around the rim and drop it into the drink or rest it on the lip.

5

Optionally, garnish with a Luxardo or brandied cherry on a pick. Serve immediately.
