Directions

1

Prepare the Sandwich

Lay out two slices of rye bread on a clean surface. Spread 1 tablespoon of Russian dressing on each slice.

2

Layer the Fillings

On one slice, layer the sliced ham, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut. Top with the second slice of bread, dressing side down.

3

Butter the Bread

Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on the outside of the sandwich.

4

Grill the Sandwich

In a skillet over medium heat, place the sandwich butter-side down. Grill for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.

5

Flip and Grill

Carefully flip the sandwich, add the remaining butter on the outside, and grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted.

6

Serve

Remove from skillet, slice in half, and serve warm with additional Russian dressing on the side if desired.
