Method

Preparing the Shrimp

1

Boil the Shrimp

Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add the jumbo shrimp and cook them for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp.

2

Cool the Shrimp

Once cooked, remove the shrimp from the boiling water and place them in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them sit for about 5 minutes, then drain and pat dry.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

3

Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Adjust the horseradish to taste for spiciness.

4

Chill the Sauce

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the cocktail sauce for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Serving

5

Plate the Shrimp

Arrange the cooled jumbo shrimp on a serving platter. You can serve them whole or cut them in half for easier eating.

6

Serve with Sauce

Serve the chilled shrimp alongside the cocktail sauce for dipping. Garnish with lemon wedges if desired.
