Sweet Dipping Sauces

Method

Preparing the Donut Holes

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole milk, large egg, and vanilla extract until fully combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  4. 4

    Heat Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) over medium heat.

  5. 5

    Form and Fry Donut Holes

Using a small scoop or your hands, carefully drop small balls of dough into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  6. 6

    Drain Donut Holes

Once cooked, remove the donut holes using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Coating and Topping

  1. 7

    Prepare Cinnamon Sugar

In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the coating.

  2. 8

    Coat Donut Holes

While the donut holes are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

  3. 9

    Make Whipped Cream

In a large bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.

Serving

  1. 10

    Serve Donut Holes

Arrange the cinnamon donut holes on a serving platter, topping them with whipped cream and colorful sprinkles. Serve with bowls of chocolate, caramel, and strawberry dipping sauces on the side.
