Preparing the Patty

Mix Ground Beef
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until the spices are evenly distributed.

Form Patties
Divide the ground beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into round patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help it cook evenly.

Add Cheese
After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.
Assembling the Burger

Prepare Vegetables
While the patties are cooking, wash the lettuce leaves and slice the tomato into thick rounds.

Toast the Buns (Optional)
If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Build the Burger
On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, and then top with tomato slices. Finally, place the top half of the bun over the toppings.
