Brewing Instructions
1. Prepare the Mash
In a large pot, heat the water to 160°F (71°C). Add the Pale Malt, Roasted Barley, and Crystal Malt. Stir well and allow to steep for 30 minutes.
2. Boil the Wort
After steeping, bring the mixture to a boil. Add the bittering hops and boil for 60 minutes. In the last 15 minutes of the boil, add the aroma hops and flaked lactose.
3. Cool the Wort
After boiling, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or ice bath until it reaches around 70°F (21°C).
4. Fermentation
Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermenter. Pitch the yeast and seal with an airlock. Allow to ferment at room temperature for about 1 week.
5. Nitrogenation
Once fermentation is complete, transfer the beer into a keg and add nitrogen gas using a nitrogen canister. Allow to sit for 24 hours for proper nitrogenation.
