Bread Pudding Directions
Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the day-old bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.
Mix the Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, Irish cream liqueur, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
Combine and Soak
Pour the wet mixture over the torn bread, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the liquid.
Bake
Transfer the soaked bread mixture into a greased baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Prepare Whiskey Sauce
While the bread pudding is baking, combine 1 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of heavy cream, and 1/4 cup of whiskey in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Serve
Allow the bread pudding to cool slightly before serving. Drizzle warm whiskey sauce over each serving.
