Method
Baking the Cake
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
Cream Butter and Sugar
In a separate bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter with the sugar mixture until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool the Cake
Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Making the Frosting
Prepare the Frosting
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy.
Add Heavy Cream
Gradually add the heavy cream to the mixture and continue to beat until the frosting is light and fluffy.
Decorating the Cake
Frost the Cake
Once the cake is completely cooled, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top and sides of the cake.
Add Decorations
Gently place the edible gold leaf on top of the frosting and scatter fresh berries around for decoration.
Serve
Slice the cake and serve to enjoy your delicious creation!
