Sundae

Method

Sundae

  1. 1

    Chill serving bowl

Place the waffle bowl or sundae glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes before assembling to help prevent quick melting of the gelato.

  2. 2

    Scoop gelato

Using a clean ice cream scoop or large spoon, scoop approximately 1 cup of vanilla gelato and place it into the chilled bowl or glass. Smooth the top slightly so the sauce and toppings sit nicely.

  3. 3

    Add chocolate sauce

Drizzle about 2 tablespoons of chocolate sauce evenly over the top of the gelato. If your sauce is thick, warm it for 5–10 seconds in the microwave in a microwave-safe container so it pours easily (stir after warming).

  4. 4

    Add whipped cream (optional)

If using whipped cream, add 2 tablespoons on top of the sauced gelato, making a small cloud for the sprinkles to adhere to.

  5. 5

    Finish with sprinkles and cherry

Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of rainbow sprinkles over the sundae so they cover the sauce and whipped cream. Top with one maraschino cherry if desired.

  6. 6

    Serve immediately

Serve the kids sundae right away with a small spoon. Keep any extra gelato in the freezer.
