Chill glass (optional)
If you prefer your vodka very cold, place the glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes before serving or fill it with ice and let sit for 1–2 minutes, then discard the ice.

If using garnish, cut a wedge of lemon or lime and set aside.

Measure
Using a jigger, measure 2 oz of Smirnoff vodka.

Add ice
If serving on the rocks, add 3–6 ice cubes to the chilled rocks glass. For a neat pour or shot, omit ice.

Pour vodka
Pour the measured 2 oz of vodka into the prepared glass over the ice (if using).

Optional dilute
If you prefer a slightly softer drink, add up to 1 oz chilled water or soda and gently stir once with a bar spoon to combine.
