Method
Classic Gin Cocktail (short)
- 1
Prepare glass
Chill a coupe or rocks glass by filling it with ice and setting aside for 1–2 minutes.
- 2
Discard the ice used to chill the glass and add fresh ice (if using rocks glass) or leave empty for a slightly less diluted coupe.
- 3
Mix
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Gordon's London Dry Gin, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice and 0.5 oz simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup cubed).
- 4
Shake
Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled (outside becomes frosty).
- 5
Strain & serve
Double strain into the chilled coupe or fine-strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge and optionally a mint sprig for aroma.
Optional Gin & Tonic (long)
- 6
Fill a highball or large wine glass with additional fresh ice (about 1 cup).
- 7
Pour 2 oz Gordon's London Dry Gin over the ice.
- 8
Top gently with 4 oz chilled tonic water to preserve carbonation; stir once gently with a bar spoon to combine.
- 9
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge. Optionally add a mint sprig for aroma.
