Key Lime Pie Ingredients
Method
Preparation Steps
Make the Crust
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden. Remove from the oven and let cool.
Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, lime zest, and egg yolks until smooth and well combined.
Bake the Pie
Pour the filling into the cooled crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center. Remove from the oven and let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.
Make the Raspberry Sauce
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the fresh raspberries and powdered sugar. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, mashing the raspberries with a fork until a sauce forms. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove the seeds, if desired.
Serve the Pie
Once the pie is chilled, slice and serve topped with slivered almonds and a drizzle of raspberry sauce.
