Method

Preparing the Shrimp

1

Cook the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the lemon halves and Old Bay seasoning to the water.

2

Boil the Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the large shrimp. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque.

3

Ice Bath

Immediately transfer the cooked shrimp to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for about 5 minutes.

4

Drain and Chill

Drain the shrimp from the ice water and place them on a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

5

Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using).

6

Taste and Adjust

Taste the cocktail sauce and adjust seasoning with more horseradish or hot sauce as needed.

Serving

7

Plate the Shrimp

Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter.

8

Serve with Sauce

Serve the shrimp with the cocktail sauce on the side for dipping. Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon wedges.
