Build in shaker (for a shaken cocktail)
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2 oz Jameson Irish Whiskey, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice and 0.5 oz simple syrup. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 10–12 seconds until well chilled (exterior of shaker becomes cold).
Strain and serve (short/rocks)
Fill an old-fashioned glass with fresh large ice cubes. Strain the chilled mixture from the shaker into the glass. Optionally top with 2 oz cold soda water for a taller, lighter drink and gently stir once to integrate.
Garnish and finish
Express a lime wedge over the drink (squeeze to release oils), rub the rim if desired, then drop the wedge or a lime wheel into the glass. Serve immediately.
If you prefer a simple highball-style Jameson & Soda: fill a highball glass with ice, add 2 oz Jameson, top with 4–6 oz chilled soda water (adjust to taste), stir gently, and garnish with a lime wedge.
