Ingredients

Beer

Optional pairing / garnish

Preparation

Beer

1. Chill a bottle or can of Abita Amber (12 oz) in the refrigerator until well chilled (ideally 38–45°F / 3–7°C). If you have a large bottle, pour 12 oz into a clean pint glass.

2. Hold the glass at a slight angle and pour the beer slowly down the side to create a moderate head (about 1/2–1 inch). Straighten the glass near the end of the pour to finish with a small collar of foam.

3. Serve immediately. Abita Amber is designed to be enjoyed without heavy modification — taste first before adding anything.

Optional pairing / garnish

4. Simple citrus garnish

If you like a touch of bright citrus, cut a lime or orange wedge and run it around the glass rim. Optionally, dip the rim lightly in coarse salt. Squeeze the wedge once over the beer and drop it into the glass. Serve immediately.

5. Serve over ice (not traditional)

If you prefer a very cold, more sessionable drink in warm weather, fill a tall glass with 3–4 ice cubes and pour the chilled Abita Amber over the ice. Note this dilutes the flavor and aroma; taste and adjust with a citrus wedge if desired.
