Hull and thinly slice the strawberries. Thinly slice the orange and half the lemon. Lightly clap the mint leaves between your palms to release aromatics.

Place the sliced strawberries, 3–4 slices of orange, and the lemon slices into a large pitcher. Add half of the mint leaves (reserve the rest for garnish).

Gently muddle the fruit and mint in the bottom of the pitcher with a wooden spoon or muddler just enough to release juices and oils — about 6–8 gentle presses. Do not over-muddle to avoid bitterness from citrus pith.

Pour 4 cups of chilled rosé into the pitcher over the muddled fruit. Stir in 2 tablespoons of simple syrup (or honey syrup) to taste. If using elderflower liqueur or brandy, add 2 tablespoons now and stir to combine.

Add wine and sweetener

Taste and adjust sweetness — add up to 1 more tablespoon of syrup if you prefer sweeter. Let the mixture sit in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes to allow flavors to marry (optional but recommended).

When ready to serve, add 1 cup of chilled sparkling rosé or club soda to the pitcher for effervescence. Gently stir to combine.

Fill a wine glass or large goblet with 1–2 large ice cubes. Spoon some fruit slices into each glass (about 2–3 strawberry slices and 1 orange slice). Pour the rosé mixture over the ice, leaving a little headroom.

Garnish each glass with a halved strawberry on the rim and a small mint sprig. Serve immediately.

Leftover sangria-style rosé will keep chilled in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours but is best consumed within the first 8–12 hours while fruit is fresh and bubbles remain lively.
