Espresso & Coffee Base

Milk & Ice

Method

Espresso & Coffee Base

1

Pull espresso

Brew two shots of espresso (about 60 ml total) using a machine. If you don't have an espresso machine, brew 60 ml strong coffee using a moka pot or concentrated pour-over. Allow espresso to cool slightly (30–60 seconds) so it won't melt all the ice immediately.

Milk & Ice

2

Prepare glass

Fill a 16 oz (approx. 475 ml) glass about three-quarters full with ice cubes (about 1 cup).

3

Add milk

Pour 10 fl oz (about 300 ml) of cold whole milk over the ice, leaving room at the top for espresso and foam/toppings (about 1–1.5 in).

Caramel & Sweeteners

4

Sweeten and flavor

Stir 2 tablespoons of caramel sauce into the milk in the glass. If you prefer a sweeter drink, add up to 1 teaspoon of simple syrup or other liquid sweetener. Stir thoroughly until caramel is mostly dissolved into the cold milk.

5

Combine espresso and milk

Slowly pour the pulled espresso over the milk and ice so it creates a layered look. Use a spoon to gently stir if you want an even mixture.

6

Garnish

If desired, top with 2 tablespoons whipped cream. Drizzle an extra 1 teaspoon of caramel sauce over the top and finish with a small pinch of sea salt for a salted caramel note.
