Iced Cafe Mocha

Method

Iced Cafe Mocha

1

Prepare coffee

Brew two shots of espresso (about 2 oz) or make 2 oz strong brewed coffee. While the espresso is hot, proceed to dissolve the cocoa and sugar.

2

Make chocolate base

In a small heatproof cup, add 2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder and 2 tsp granulated sugar. Pour in 2 tbsp hot water and whisk vigorously until fully dissolved and smooth, forming a concentrated chocolate syrup.

3

Combine coffee and chocolate

Pour the hot espresso into the chocolate base and stir until combined. If using vanilla extract, add 1 tsp now and stir.

4

Prepare glass

Drizzle 1 tbsp chocolate syrup around the inside of a 16 oz glass for extra chocolate flavor and visual appeal. Add 1 cup of ice cubes to the glass.

5

Assemble drink

Pour the chocolate-coffee mixture over the ice. Add 8 fl oz (about 1 cup) whole milk over the top. Stir gently to combine and chill the drink evenly.

6

Finish and serve

Top with 2 tbsp whipped cream if desired and a light drizzle of chocolate syrup. Serve immediately with a straw.
