Bread

Method

Bread

1

Preheat and prepare bread

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). If using a whole loaf, slice the bread into 1-inch thick slices but keep the base connected (for pull-apart style) or slice completely through for individual pieces. Place the prepared loaf or slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment.

Garlic cream cheese spread

2

Soften and combine

In a medium bowl, place the softened cream cheese and softened butter. Use a fork or electric mixer on low speed to beat until smooth and fully combined, about 1–2 minutes.

3

Add flavorings

Stir in the minced garlic, chopped parsley, lemon juice, grated Parmesan, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until evenly distributed. Taste and adjust seasoning (add more salt, pepper, or lemon juice to preference).

4

Optional smoothness

If you prefer a looser spread, whisk in 1–2 teaspoons of warm water or milk until you reach the desired consistency so it spreads easily into slices.

Assemble and bake

5

Fill the bread

Using a small spoon or butter knife, generously spread the garlic cream cheese between each slice (or spread over each cut surface) so each piece has a good amount of filling. If you kept the loaf connected, also spread a thin layer over the top crust if desired.

6

Add topping

Drizzle the olive oil lightly over the top and between slices. Sprinkle the extra grated Parmesan and optional red pepper flakes evenly over the filled bread.

7

Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 12–18 minutes, until the edges of the cheese spread are bubbly and the top is light golden. For a more toasted top, switch oven to broil for 1–2 minutes watching closely to avoid burning.

8

Garnish and serve

Remove from oven and let rest 2–3 minutes. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top. Serve warm as a side, appetizer, or snack—pull apart the slices or separate individual pieces and enjoy.
