Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare and Combine

Chill a coupe or martini glass by filling it with ice water; set aside. If using canned lychee, drain and reserve one for garnish.

2

Shake

Add lychee vodka (2 oz), Canton ginger liqueur (1/2 oz), fresh lemon juice (3/4 oz), yuzu bitters (3 dashes), and optional simple syrup (1/4 oz) into a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted.

3

Strain

Discard the ice water from the chilled glass. Double strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and any small pulp from lemon or lychee.

Garnish & Serve

4

Skewer the reserved lychee onto a cocktail pick and place it across the rim of the glass or drop the lychee into the drink. Express a lemon twist over the surface to release oils, rim the glass with the twist, then drop it in or lay it on the rim.

5

Serve immediately. Optionally, offer a stirrer so the drinker can incorporate the bitters and any settled syrup.
