Method
Coffee Base
Whisky & Sweetener
Add 1 teaspoon brown sugar to the hot coffee and stir until fully dissolved. Pour in 1½ tablespoons (22 ml) Jameson Irish Whisky and stir once more to combine and gently heat the spirit without boiling.
Cream Topping
Prepare the cream
In a small chilled bowl, lightly whip 2 tablespoons heavy cream with 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract (if using) just until soft peaks form. You want the cream pourable but thick enough to float; avoid overwhipping into stiff peaks.
Using the back of a warm spoon held just above the coffee surface, slowly pour the lightly whipped cream over the spoon so the cream floats on top of the coffee in a distinct layer.
Garnish & Serve
Sprinkle a pinch (about 1 teaspoon) of freshly grated nutmeg or sifted cocoa powder over the cream. Serve immediately while the coffee is hot and the cream remains chilled and floating. To drink, sip the hot coffee through the cream layer.
