Base Ice Cream Mixture

Method

Base Ice Cream Preparation

1

Make the Base

In a large mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Whisk together until the sugar is fully dissolved.

2

Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the mixture is thoroughly chilled.

Flavoring the Ice Cream

3

Divide the Base

Once chilled, divide the base mixture equally into five separate bowls for each flavor.

4

Add Flavorings

To each bowl, add the respective flavoring ingredient: cocoa powder for chocolate, strawberry puree for strawberry, mint extract and chocolate chips for mocha mint chocolate chip, and peanut butter and chopped Reese’s for the peanut butter flavor. Mix until well combined.

5

Swirl in Chocolate Syrup

For the mocha mint chocolate chip, swirl in chocolate syrup to taste for added richness.

Churning and Freezing

6

Churn the Ice Cream

Pour each flavored mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

7

Freeze the Ice Cream

Transfer the churned ice cream into airtight containers and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until solid.
