Preparation

Preparing Ahi Tuna Steak

1. Crust the Tuna

Season the Ahi tuna steaks with salt and black pepper. Press the sesame seeds onto both sides of the steaks to form a crust.

2. Sear the Tuna

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tuna steaks and sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until the sesame seeds are golden brown and the tuna is rare in the center. Remove from heat and let rest.

Making Japanese Soy Vinaigrette
