Frozen Lemonade Base

Method

Frozen Lemonade Base

1

Make simple lemonade concentrate

In a measuring cup or small pitcher, combine 1 cup fresh lemon juice and 3 tablespoons granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Add 1 cup cold water and stir to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding up to 1 tablespoon more sugar if desired.

2

Blend with ice

Place the lemonade concentrate and 4 cups of ice in a high-powered blender. Start on low speed to break up the ice for 10–15 seconds, then increase to high and blend until the mixture is smooth and slushy (about 30–45 seconds). If mixture is too thick to blend, add 1–2 tablespoons cold water; if too thin, add 1/2 cup more ice and pulse until slushy.

3

Taste the frozen lemonade and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed: a squeeze more lemon for brightness or 1 teaspoon sugar for more sweetness. Keep frozen lemonade in the blender while you prepare the cocktail serving glass so it stays slushy.

Cocktail

4

Assemble cocktail

Pour or spoon 10–12 ounces (about 1½ cups) of the frozen lemonade slush into a chilled 16-ounce glass. Add 2 oz Tito's Handmade Vodka on top of the slush. Using a bar spoon, gently fold the vodka into the slush 3–4 times to incorporate without melting it completely.

5

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lemon wheel on the rim and an optional mint sprig. Serve immediately with a straw and long spoon.
