Moonshine Base

Citrus & Sweeteners

Optional Rim (if desired)

Method

Prep (Optional Rim)

1

Rim the glass

If you want a sugar rim, run the lime wedge around the glass lip, then dip the rim into the sugar placed on a small plate. Set glass aside.

Build the Cocktail

2

Add 4 fresh blackberries to a cocktail shaker or sturdy glass. Muddle the blackberries gently until broken down and juicy but not completely pulverized (about 10–15 seconds).

3

Add 6 oz Ole Smoky Blackberry Moonshine and 1 oz vodka (optional) to the shaker along with 0.5 oz fresh lime juice and 0.25 oz simple syrup.

4

Fill the shaker with ice (or add crushed ice if you prefer a slushier texture). Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 8–10 seconds to chill and slightly dilute the drink and to help integrate the muddled berries.

5

Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled halfway with crushed ice (use a fine strainer to remove seeds and larger pulp for a smoother drink).

6

Top with 2 oz club soda (or lemon-lime soda if you want sweeter and fizzier) and gently stir once or twice to combine without flattening the bubbles.

7

Add remaining fresh blackberries (if desired) to the drink for garnish and visual appeal, and place a lime wheel or wedge on the rim.

Serve

8

Serve immediately while cold. Offer a straw or long stirring spoon so the drinker can stir and release more blackberry flavor as they sip.

9

Tip: For a frozen variation, blend all ingredients (except club soda) with 1–1.5 cups crushed ice until smooth, then top with club soda and garnish.
