Method

Cocktail

1

Chill glass (optional)

Place a rocks or coupe glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill it. Discard ice water before pouring.

2

Combine ingredients

Add 2 oz Grey Goose vodka, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and 0.25 oz triple sec (if using) into a cocktail shaker. Add a generous scoop of ice (about 1 cup) to the shaker.

3

Shake

Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is very cold and condensation forms. This chills and dilutes the drink to balance the spirit and citrus.

4

Strain

Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled rocks or coupe glass over fresh ice if desired (for an on-the-rocks serve) or without ice for a neat serve. Use a Hawthorne strainer and a fine-mesh strainer to catch small shards of ice and pulp.

5

Top (optional)

If you prefer a lighter, slightly effervescent finish, top the cocktail with about 1 oz of club soda. Gently stir once to combine.

6

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
