Cocktail

1

Build and Stir

Place a mixing glass or a rocks glass large enough to stir into the refrigerator or freezer for a few minutes to chill (optional). Add 2 oz Bulleit Bourbon to the mixing glass. Add 2 dashes Angostura bitters and 0.25 oz simple syrup. Add enough large ice (one large cube or several large cubes) to fill the mixing glass about two-thirds full. Stir gently but thoroughly for 20–30 seconds (about 20–30 full strokes) until the exterior of the glass is well-chilled and the drink is slightly diluted and silked.

2

Strain and Serve

If you stirred in a separate mixing glass, strain the chilled cocktail into a chilled old-fashioned or rocks glass over a single large ice cube. If you stirred directly in the serving glass, leave the ice in place.

3

Garnish

Express the oils from 1 piece of orange peel over the surface of the cocktail by holding the peel skin-side down about 2–3 inches above the drink and giving it a firm twist. Run the rim of the glass with the peel and drop the peel into the drink as garnish.
