Cocktail

2 oz Bacardí Superior white rum1 oz Fresh lime juice1/2 oz Simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water)1 oz Club soda (optional, for a lighter version)1 cup Ice (cubed)1 to taste Lime wheel or wedge (garnish)1 to taste Fresh mint sprig (optional garnish)

Cocktail

Prepare glass

If serving over ice in a highball or collins glass, fill the glass with ice cubes to chill while you mix. If serving straight up, chill a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for several minutes.

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 1 cup of cubed ice, 2 oz Bacardí Superior, 1 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup.

Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about 10–15 seconds, until the exterior of the shaker becomes very cold and slightly frosted.

Strain and serve

If serving over ice: discard the ice used to chill the glass (if you chilled the glass that way) and fill the serving glass with fresh ice. Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass. If serving straight up: double-strain into the chilled coupe or martini glass to remove ice shards.

Top (optional)

If you prefer a lighter, spritz-style drink, gently top the poured cocktail with about 1 oz club soda. Do not stir vigorously—just a gentle swirl to incorporate.

Garnish

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and, if desired, a sprig of mint slapped between your palms to release aroma and tucked into the drink.

Serve immediately while cold.
