Corn Dogs

Condiments (optional)

Method

Corn Dogs

  1. 1

    Heat oil

Pour about 1 cup vegetable oil into a medium skillet to a depth of roughly 1/2 inch. Heat over medium-high until oil reaches 350°F (175°C) or a small piece of batter sizzles immediately when added.

  2. 2

Fry corn dogs: Remove any packaging from the frozen corn dogs. Carefully place 2 frozen corn dogs into the hot oil. Fry, turning occasionally, about 4–6 minutes total until evenly golden brown and heated through. If you prefer baking, see alternate method below.

  3. 3

Drain: Using tongs, transfer corn dogs to a paper towel–lined plate to drain excess oil for 1 minute. Keep warm in a low oven (200°F / 95°C) if needed while preparing fries.

  4. 4

    Alternate - Oven

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place frozen corn dogs on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Bake 18–22 minutes, turning once halfway, until golden and hot inside.

Fries

  1. 5

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) if not already set from the corn dog alternate method. Spread the 10 oz of frozen fries in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Lightly toss or brush with 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to promote crisping. Bake for 18–25 minutes, flipping once halfway, until golden brown and crisp. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with 1 teaspoon salt; toss briefly to distribute.

  2. 6

    Stovetop/Fry

If pan-frying or deep-frying, heat 1/2 inch oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry fries in batches 3–5 minutes until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels and season with 1 teaspoon salt.

Drink

  1. 7

Prepare drink: Fill a 16 oz glass with 6 ice cubes if using. Pour 16 oz chilled soft drink over the ice. Serve immediately.

Assembly & Serving

  1. 8

Plate: Place 2 corn dogs on a plate alongside the cooked fries. Add ketchup and mustard on the side or drizzle as preferred.

  2. 9

Serve: Serve the corn dogs hot with fries and the chilled drink. Enjoy.
