1

Prepare glass

If you like a salted rim, rub a lime wedge around the outer rim of a rocks or coupe glass. Pour the salt or tajín onto a small plate and dip the rim to coat evenly. Set glass aside in the freezer or fill with ice to chill while you mix the drink.

2

Shake

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add 2 oz silver tequila, 2 oz freshly squeezed blood orange juice, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 0.75 oz Cointreau (or triple sec), and 0.5 oz agave syrup. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the shaker is cold and slightly frosted.

3

Strain & Serve

Discard ice from the chilled glass if used to chill. Fill the glass with fresh ice (optional for a rocks presentation) or serve up (strained) in the chilled coupe. Double-strain the contents of the shaker through a cocktail strainer (and a fine mesh strainer if you want to remove pulp) into the prepared glass.

4

Garnish & Adjust

Garnish with a fresh blood orange wheel or a lime wedge on the rim. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by stirring in an additional 0.25–0.5 oz agave syrup to taste.
