Method
Waffle Preparation
Prepare the Waffle Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.
Combine Ingredients
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; it's okay if there are a few lumps.
Add Optional Ingredients
If desired, fold in your choice of add-ins such as blueberries, pecans, chocolate chips, or bananas.
Preheat Waffle Iron
Preheat your Belgian waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Cook the Waffles
Pour an appropriate amount of batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown and crisp. This usually takes about 5-7 minutes.
Serve
Carefully remove the waffles from the waffle iron and serve hot, accompanied by your choice of bacon, turkey sausage link, pork sausage patty, or country ham.
