Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Prep

Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice (about 1 cup). If you prefer a colder glass, chill it in the freezer for a few minutes beforehand.

  2. 2

    Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker filled with a few ice cubes, add 2 oz Absolut Lime vodka, 0.5 oz Luxardo Cherry Liqueur, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz cherry syrup, and 0.25 oz simple syrup (use only if you want extra sweetness).

  3. 3

    Shake

Shake the mixture vigorously for about 10–12 seconds until well chilled (shaker becomes cold to the touch).

  4. 4

    Strain and top

Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass over the ice. Top with 2 oz club soda or sparkling water and gently stir once with a bar spoon to combine without flattening the bubbles.

  5. 5

    Adjust sweetness/acidity

Taste and adjust: add an extra 0.25 oz cherry syrup if you want it sweeter or another 0.25 oz lime juice if you want it tarter; briefly stir to incorporate.

Garnish & Serve

  1. 6

Garnish the drink with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and drop a Luxardo or maraschino cherry into the glass. Optionally add a small sprig of mint or a pinch of lime zest on top for aroma.

  2. 7

Serve immediately with a straw. Provide a small spoon or stirrer if the guest wants to mix the cherry syrup settled at the bottom.
