Method
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden. Let cool on a wire rack.
Brownies
Prepare the Brownie Batter
In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the cocoa powder and sugar.
Mix in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
Add the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Bake the Brownies
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
Iced Tea or Coffee
Brew the Tea or Coffee
Bring the water to a boil and remove from heat. Add the tea bags or coffee grounds and steep for 5-7 minutes.
Remove the tea bags or strain the coffee grounds and allow to cool.
