Cocktail Base (per serving)

Method

Cocktail Assembly (single serving)

1

Prepare glass

Fill the He’e or Wana mug (or a tall glass) with cracked ice until about three-quarters full.

2

Mix spirits and juices

In a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice, combine light rum (1.5 oz), dark rum (0.5 oz), Captain Morgan spiced rum (0.5 oz), orange curaçao (0.5 oz), fresh orange juice (2 oz), and pineapple juice (2 oz).

3

Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.

4

Pour & layer grenadine

Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared mug over the cracked ice. Slowly pour grenadine (0.5 oz) down the inside edge or over the back of a spoon so it sinks and creates a warm red gradient (the 'potion' effect).

5

Garnish

Garnish with an orange wheel and a maraschino cherry on a pick. Add a cocktail umbrella or dehydrated pineapple if desired.

6

Serve with a straw and a napkin. Present in the take-home He’e or Wana mug while the layered color effect is still visible.

Batch Preparation (6 servings)

7

Prepare batch

In a large pitcher, combine light rum (9 oz), dark rum (3 oz), Captain Morgan spiced rum (3 oz), orange curaçao (3 oz), fresh orange juice (12 oz), and pineapple juice (12 oz). Stir gently to blend.

8

Chill

Keep the mixture chilled in the refrigerator or over a container of ice until ready to serve.

9

Serve each portion

For each mug, fill with cracked ice, pour 6 oz of the mixed cocktail (approx.) over the ice, then slowly add 0.5 oz grenadine to each mug to create the layered effect. Garnish each with an orange wheel and maraschino cherry.

10

If transporting take-home mugs, cap or cover them to preserve temperature and layering; provide a straw and garnish separately if needed.
