Filtered Drinking Water
Bottling & Equipment
Method
Prepare Bottle
Sanitize and Dry
Ensure the reusable bottle, cap, and any tools (funnel, brush) are clean. If recently washed, rinse with hot water and let air dry or wipe with a clean towel. If the bottle has been unused for a while, wash with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and sanitize by filling with a mild bleach solution (1 tsp bleach per 1 liter), then rinse thoroughly with filtered water until no bleach smell remains.
Inspect the bottle for cracks or damage. Replace if any are found to prevent leaks or contamination.
Assemble Infused Water (optional)
Add Ice and Flavor
Place 6 ice cubes into the bottle. Add 3 lemon slices (cut 3–4 mm thick) and tuck 4 fresh mint leaves into the neck or body of the bottle. Use a funnel if needed to avoid spills.
Pour Water
Carefully pour 1 liter of cold filtered water into the bottle over the ice and flavorings, leaving about 1.5–2 cm headspace at the top to allow closing the cap without overflow.
Set and Chill
Screw the cap on tightly. For a lightly infused flavor, let the bottle rest in the refrigerator or at room temperature for 15–30 minutes. For stronger infusion, refrigerate for 2–4 hours. If drinking immediately, the water will still be refreshed by the ice and citrus aroma.
Storage and Maintenance
Consume and Refill
Consume the prepared water within 24 hours if kept refrigerated for best freshness. Refill the bottle with fresh filtered water as needed; replace lemon slices and mint every 12–24 hours to avoid bitterness or degradation.
Clean After Use
After finishing the bottle, wash it with warm soapy water and a bottle brush, rinse thoroughly, and allow to air dry. For periodic deep-cleaning, sanitize as described in Prepare Bottle.
