Bottled Water
Soda (Can)
Method
Bottled Water
Serve bottled water
Chilled bottled water is ready to serve straight from the bottle. Inspect the seal: ensure the cap is intact and the bottle is within its best-by date if present.
If you prefer cold water in a glass, chill the bottle in the refrigerator for at least 1–2 hours or place the bottle in ice for 10–15 minutes.
To serve over ice: fill a clean glass with ice to desired level, pour water from the bottle slowly to avoid overflow.
Soda (Can)
Open and serve soda
Chill the can in the refrigerator for at least 1–2 hours for best taste. If chilled quickly, place the can in ice for 10–15 minutes.
Inspect the can: ensure it is not dented severely, leaking, or bulging. Wipe the top of the can with a clean cloth or napkin to remove dust or debris before opening.
To open: hold the can upright on a stable surface or in your hand, lift the tab and push down on the scored section to puncture the opening. Open slowly to control fizz if the can has been shaken.
Optional: add a lime or lemon wedge to the rim or squeeze a small amount into the soda for added flavor. Stir gently if you add citrus.
Dispose of the empty can or recycle according to local guidelines. Rinse and recycle the bottle after consuming bottled water.
