Method
Prepare the Coffee
Brew the Espresso
Brew 1 cup of espresso coffee. If desired, mix in 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur. Set aside to cool.
Make the Mascarpone Mixture
Prepare the Mascarpone
In a mixing bowl, combine 500g of mascarpone cheese, 1 cup of heavy cream, 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
Incorporate the Eggs
In a separate bowl, beat 3 large eggs until frothy. Gradually add the egg mixture to the mascarpone mixture, mixing gently until fully incorporated.
Assemble the Tiramisu
Dip the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the cooled espresso mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
Layer the Ingredients
In a rectangular dish, place a layer of soaked ladyfingers on the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
Chill and Serve
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
Garnish and Serve
Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with grated dark chocolate. Cut into squares and serve chilled.
