Cocktail
Add the orange vodka, St. Germain, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup (if using) into a cocktail shaker.
Fill the shaker with large ice cubes, cap it, and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted. This both chills and dilutes the drink to balance sweetness and acidity.
Empty the ice or water from the chilled glass. Double strain the cocktail into the chilled martini/coupe glass using both the shaker’s strainer and a fine strainer to remove tiny ice shards and any pulp from the lemon juice.
Add 2 dashes of orange bitters on top of the cocktail and give the glass a very gentle, single stir (or let the bitters settle) so the aroma sits on the surface.
Garnish
Express the oils from an orange twist over the surface of the cocktail by holding the twist over the glass and quickly pinching it so the oils spray onto the drink.
Rub the rim of the glass lightly with the twist (optional), then drop the twist into the drink or rest it on the rim. If using an edible flower, float it gently on the surface for an elegant presentation.
Serve
Serve immediately while cold. Recommend enjoying one cocktail per serving.
