Method
Prepare Ingredients
- 1
Prepare fruit
If using fresh strawberries, hull and halve them. Peel the banana and break it into large chunks so it blends easily. If using frozen strawberries or frozen banana, you can reduce or omit the ice.
- 2
Measure out hemp seeds, chia seeds, milk, yogurt, sweetener, and optional vanilla so everything is ready to add to the blender.
Blend the Shake
- 3
- 4
Add strawberries and banana on top of the liquids.
- 5
Add hemp seeds and chia seeds to the blender. Add honey or maple syrup and the optional vanilla extract.
- 6
Add ice cubes last. Secure the lid and blend on high for 45–60 seconds, or until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. If the shake is too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons (15–30 ml) of additional milk and pulse to combine. If too thin, add a few more ice cubes or a small handful (about 1/4 cup) of frozen strawberries and blend again.
Finish & Serve
- 7
Taste and adjust sweetness if needed, adding an additional 1/2 teaspoon honey or maple syrup if desired. Blend for 5–10 seconds to incorporate any added sweetener.
- 8
Pour the shake into a 12 oz (about 355 ml) glass. If desired, garnish with the strawberry slices on the rim and a sprinkle of hemp seeds.
- 9
Serve immediately with a straw. Shake can be refrigerated up to 24 hours, but chia seeds may thicken the texture over time—stir or add a splash of milk before serving if that happens.
